Relatives and Belongings

Moving overseas has forced us to deal with our belongings! Some of it was packed into big storage “pods” and is stored in Chicago area. However, we ran out of space, so some went to Mom and Dad’s in Atlanta.

On Monday, March 10, we set off with a U-Haul trailer. We had to drive our older car so that the trailer would have power for tail lights. The weather was cooperative and we went from Chicago to Atlanta in one long day. We were relieved when we all arrived safely--people, car and trailer! Now Mom and Dad’s basement has some nice bookshelves.

During our 10 day vacation we had fun visits with family in Georgia and North Carolina. We played cards and enjoyed tasty meals together. We went horse back riding in the rain one day.

We do not know yet where we will be living in Wellington. Karla at the Ministry of Health has been very helpful. She has been going around and checking out some furnished rental properties for us.

We will also need to get a car fairly soon after we arrive. Fortunately Wellington has good public transportation and many neighborhoods have shops within walking distance. I’m thinking that public transportation may be a good way to learn my way around first, and then I can tackle driving on the left.
